Citadel: New Merchant to Process Gambling Money

Friday, April 6th, 2007

The online gambling industry has been desperately hoping that an online payment processor can appear and move into the gap left by NETeller’s withdrawal from the US and Canadian markets. Now it looks like Citadel might become the preferred payment processor for online gamblers.

The OnlineCasinos website published an interesting article speculating that Citadel Commerce might be about to make a special action to become the primary online gambling transaction processor. The reason for this speculation is an announcement made by ESI Entertainment Systems that it was relocating its intellectual property and primary data centre from Vancouver to CasinoRoom $100 bonus Malta, a small island in the Mediterranean, which has become an important licensing centre for online gambling companies. Breaking News: World Trade Organization Rules UIGEA is Illegal!!!

Friday, April 6th, 2007

March 30th Bloomberg reported that the World Trade Organization (WTO) had ruled the US ban on offshore internet gambling to be in breach of international trade law, leading to many online gambling investors to believe their shares will rocket upwards on Monday when the market reopens.

The WTO said the US ignored its previous ruling that challenged the US ban on payments to gambling web sites whilst allowing bets on its own soil, deeming the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) to be a protectionist practice and therefore illegal under WTO rules. (more…)

Europe: Progress in Gambling Regulation Coming Soon

Friday, April 6th, 2007

The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) was launched in Brussels this week, replacing the European Betting Association (EBA).

The EGBA has been launched with some big names participating, including online gambling giants PartyGaming, Unibet, Interwetten, Expekt, Carmen Media Group, BWin and Bet-at-Home.

The EGBA would like to become a strong voice in the European debates regarding the rights of regulated European-licensed operators to offer their services unrestricted in Europe. They are launched on a wave of optimism, following the recent European Court of Justice decision on the Plancania case in Italy, where the ECJ ruled that a bookmaker licensed in Britain should be River Belle Casino allowed to offer their services in other EU countries without needing supplementary licenses. Spain Gambling Regulation

Friday, April 6th, 2007

Hello!

I’m happy to see you here. I hope you will find my blog posts interesting and useful. Thank you.

Today we explore Spanish Gambling regulation.

Spain is on the straight-and-narrow in becoming one of the next regulated powerhouse gambling markets in both the casino and sports gambling industries. Thanks to an agreement of understanding between the established Spanish gambling group, Codere, and the well-known European betting operator, William Hill, it is clear that rumors suggesting Spain will soon be offering gambling For the moment, the gambling market is unregulated in Spain. However, due to a very large demand from Spanish citizens and online casino operators seeking gaming licenses to operate within Spain, several Spanish regions have already begun writing up gambling regulation legislation that would legalize certain forms of gambling, which as of yet, looks to be an inclusion of all forms of traditional land-based betting and online casino gambling. Considering that Spain is one of the largest gambling markets in Europe, the decision is being regarded as a wise one by casino gambling industry insiders and government officials.

The combinative powers of Codere and Will Hill in Spain will create an outstanding sports betting industry that will likewise give an economic boost to publicly operated programs and facilities. Following the lead of England, where the UK Gambling Bill is poised to go into effect and set the precedent of online casino and sportsbook regulation, Spain is on its way of becoming a top player in the world of regulated gambling. Need Some Change??

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

More than $17,000 was found under old slot machines at the former Sands Casino Hotel in Atlantic City (Oh my God, I was there so many times- I lost my chance to find this money!!!!!!!! so embarrassed, you know:(((), when workers collected the change that found its way there over the years.

The Casino Hotel in Atlantic City was closed in November 2006, after 30 years. Later this year it will be demolished and a new casino will be built in its place. Workers began cleaning out the casino, taking apart 2,350 slot machines to use at other casinos owned by the Sands’ parent company.

The workers expected to find some cash on the floor, between the slot machines but they didn’t expect to find so much money. They found $17,193.34, mostly in coins and casino tokens and even a $100 bill.

The money belongs to Pinnacle Entertainment Inc., the Las Vegas company that acquired the Sands in 2006. New Jersey state receives 8 percent of the money in taxes-cool isnt it? — the same as it would, had the money been won from gamblers.

Most of the money was found under the machines themselves and a small part of it was found in small spaces between the machines. Casino workers made guesses about how much money would be found but the amounts they thought of were much smaller than what was actually found, as most guessed that less than $8,000 would be found.

Now tell me: how could it come those employees were so stupid to give the found amount to Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. and NJ state? Tell me : what would you do? DONT READ MY MIND!!!!!!!!! :))

Poland: Gambling Regulations News

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

POLAND IS LEGALIZING ONLINE GAMBLING

The Warsaw Voice had outstanding news for online gamblers and online gambling companies: It has been announced that that the coming soon the European Court of Justice in the Placanica case the Poland government is about to prepare to start issuing gambling license.

The European Court of Justice has upheld regulations liberalising online gambling by handing down a ruling favourable to British bookmakers who had been banned from operating in Italy. Consequently, the Polish government is planning to introduce online gambling regulations similar to those in Italy, the newspaper claims.

“National regulations that prohibit the acceptance of bets unless one has a license issued by the relevant member state restrict the freedom of services,” said the court in substantiating its decision. The court ruled that an operator who holds a license issued in one EU member state has the right to provide similar services throughout the European Union. The court’s ruling concerns three bookmakers who had accepted bets in Italy on behalf of British-based firm Stanley International Betting (SIB). SIB had no license to conduct bookmaking business in Italy.

In Poland, a dozen or so foreign online bookmakers operate without any regulations. The Ministry of Finance is currently working to amend the gambling law, the Warsaw Voice reports.
Poland internet gambling and online poker market, will maybe soon be open for online gambling firms like WILLIAM HILL (WMH.L), PARTYGAMING (PRTY.L), CRYPTOLOGIC (CRYP), PLAYTECH (PTEC.L) , 888 HOLDINGS (888.L).

I can assume that this act will affect greatly the polish society of gambling companies pushing them to pay taxes for being really legal.
Agree?

Casino software Function of Player Age Determination is Requested :))

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

Hi,

You wont believe it: There are people in our world who think that all casino software should have a kind of special module, special script or program which is to check WHAT IS THE REAL AGE OF THE PLAYER.

LOOK AT THIS:

We have all heard about the growing number of gamblers over these past few years. This is largely due to the growing trend in internet gambling. However, if it is illegal for anyone under 21 to gamble, why are teenagers being able to sign up, open an account, and play online for real money? However, there are some sites out there with software that can detect a real person’s age, so why don’t they ALL implenment this software? This law should be set straight across the board. There is no question that teens are at the most risk of falling into the habit of internet gambling. Let’s put a stop to this before it gets worse!

The government today is looking to prohibit all internet gambling in the U.S., however this will cause more harm than good. We saw it happen in the 1920s when alcohol was prohibited/banned. It will just drive the industry into an illegal criminal element through underground markets. So instead of banning internet gambling altogether, we should have all gambling sites licensed and regulated so that they provide a fair, honest, and reputable atmosphere.

Included in this regulation should provide all gambling sites to implement the software that can detect a real person’s age.
