In April 2006, Barrister Nick Hawkins, with nearly 30 years experience in the law, government and politics, joined the firm. Nick is a former MP who was until May 2004 Shadow Gaming Minister, and previously former Shadow Solicitor-General, and served in Government at the predecessor department of the DCMS, (then the DNH) and on the DCMS Select Committee. He played a prominent role in the clause-by-clause scrutiny and debate on the 2005 Gambling Bill and has extensive experience of all the relevant legislative, governance and anti-money-laundering issues in the UK, US and EU.
