Claranet, Europe’s largest independent provider of IP services, today announced that it is offering its clients the highest level of protection against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, by partnering with Prolexic Technologies.

Claranet is complementing its own DDoS mitigation offering with Prolexic’s Clean Pipe solution, which responds in real time to DDoS attacks, mitigating them at multiple layers and enabling legitimate traffic to continue to reach its destination. Other DDoS mitigation solutions – in particular hardware devices – are unable to withstand the rapidly increasing magnitudes of today’s attacks, which can now reach over 10Gbps.

Claranet has many customers in the gaming sector.
