Online Poker Plan Uses Real Cards to Prove Honesty

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

A Denver entrepreneur has devised a system for online poker that answers all questions of authenticity, accountability, and transparency. Gene Gioia wondered about the implausible hands he saw online, and wanted to find a way to verify that software flaws were not causing hands that would not occur at live tables.

Gioia came from a professional background as a consultant in charge of auditing software installations for nationwide companies. He decided the way to assure players the game and system were legitimate was to deal actual cards. (more…)

Coinciding with the launch of The New Football Pools in August 2008, the initial five year contract has been structured to include significant international marketing and distribution for the Pools. This includes an evaluation of international markets for football pools opportunities.

As part of the agreement, 888 will actively assist in the marketing of all of Sportech’s products to both companies existing and new customers in the UK and worldwide, and through an active single button ‘click through’ function, connect players to the Pools website where they can register and play.

Pacific Poker Room Review

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Pacific Poker is part of the 888 Holdings group, the company behind the world’s largest online casino, Casino-on-Net. As you can imagine, this means many wild casino customers can be found at the poker tables. Combined with lots of regular promotions, a lot of Texas Hold’em players come to Pacific Poker for juicy high-action tables and good bonuses.

The No-Limit and Pot-Limit cash games are strongly recommended for players looking to make a profit. At Pacific Poker’s Limit Hold’em games, the viewed-flop percentages in full ring games are often in the high 50s and 60s – sometimes even up in the 70s! The No-Limit games are also among the juiciest and loosest online. Special promotions offered by the site include money-added tournaments, satellites to live events and regular freerolls.

The upgraded Pacific Poker software offers players a lot: great graphics and functionality, improved search functions and layout, nice looking 3-D avatars, integrated casino and bingo play, an always-visible cashier and improved multi-tabling abilities – up to four tables can now be tiled or cascaded at one time. Another very nice function that stands out from other poker sites is the graphic replay of hands – a useful tool for reviewing your play. (more…)

Sportsbook Poker is a growing poker site on the increasingly popular Cake poker network which is, as opposed to most poker rooms, actually available only to U.S. players. The software was developed by a group of poker players and has a very functional lobby and nice graphics, which contribute to a great overall playing experience. Sportsbook Poker also has very loose and juicy games for the small-stakes player, with lots of gamblers drifting over from the sportsbook and casino.

32Red Poker Review

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Let us continue reviewing leading poker rooms:

32Red is a solid poker room that offers all the necessary features to give you an enjoyable experience playing poker at their room. The room is part of the larger Microgaming network, which is a very popular network offering solid software and receives a large portion of the online poker traffic. 32Red is a cut above the rest one it comes to promotions, offering numerous promotions to both new and old players alike. A good example is the ‘red 3s&2s’ where if you receive a red 3 and a 2 as your holecards in any cash game on Thursdays, you will be rewarded with 320 ‘RedBacks’, which can be used as buy-ins for special tournaments.
Software
The graphics are a little basic compared to other rooms, but the layout is effective and easy to use. The software itself is reliable and has some nice features such as the ‘mini mode’ view for tables which will allow you to squeeze 4 tables onto your screen with no overlap, which is incredibly useful if you like to multi-table. Every prima skin also has a seating preferences option which allows you to choose which seat you want to appear in by rotating the other players around the table. The lobby however is well designed, and allows you to easily sort between the different games and limits on offer via a tree-structured listing system.
Traffic
32Red shares the same players as every other room on the Microgaming poker network. It has a decent amount of players in relation to other poker rooms but the volume is not overwhelming. There are always enough tables open to allow to find a table almost immediately with little or no waiting times. (more…)

CD Poker

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Due to U.S. legislation preventing credit card companies from collecting payments for wagers made by U.S. residents, CD Poker has determined to suspend all real-money gaming business in the United States.

CD Poker is one of the most popular rooms on the iPoker network, still offering relatively loose games with lots of casino players, insane sit-and-go jackpots and good high-value promotions. The iPoker network, and subsequently CD Poker, took a hit to the player base with the new U.S. online gaming restrictions last year, but both have recovered nicely and are adding players to the network daily.

For sit-and-go players in particular, CD Poker is a virtual Mecca, hosting one of the widest arrays of tournaments in the poker world, including the Limitless Jackpot promotion. (more…)

Titan Poker Review

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Due to U.S. legislation preventing credit card companies from collecting payments for wagers made by U.S. residents, Titan Poker has determined to suspend all real-money gaming business in the United States.

Titan Poker is the leading poker room in the iPoker network, developed by leading software firm PlayTech. The network took a hit volume-wise, like everybody else, with the new U.S. gaming regulations, but it is recuperating fast and is back to the top end of the industry.

Games are somewhat loose, with lots of casino players and new recruits, and there are often some very high-value promotions through both PokerListings and other channels, so more and more players are continually being drawn to the site. (more…)
